Biography

Gate started as the Mid laner for Final Five. They first competed in the 2015 NA LCS Expansion Tournament where they made it out of the group stage, beating Zenith eSports (2-1) and compLexity Black (2-0). They will, however, lose to Team Fusion (2-3) in the first round, dropping them to the losers' bracket where they will lose against Team Coast (1-3) and get eliminated from the tournament.

Although they failed to qualify in the Expansion Tournament, they made it to the 2015 NACS Spring Split. They qualified for the playoffs by finishing 4th in the regular split but they lost against EnemyGG (0-2) in the semifinals and Team Fusion (0-2) in the 3rd place match, thus placing them 4th for the Spring Split.

Gate has only played 2 games for Vortex (formerly known as Final Five) in the 2015 NACS Summer Split. This was because Team Impulse signed him as a substitute player, requiring him to switch from Mid lane to Support. He eventually moved back to Mid lane as replacement when XiaoWeiXiao got suspended due to a case of elo boosting. Despite what happened with the team, they were able to finish the regular split at 3rd place. In the playoffs, Gate and Team Impulse are able to beat Team Dignitas in a 3-0 victory, but lost to CLG (0-3) and Team Liquid (1-3).
